Nkisi Gala with Chefs for Human Rights
Hosted by Executive Chef Leonardo Marino, Filmmaker Mike Ramsdell, and Chefs for Human Rights: Angelo Sosa, Roxanne Spruance, Angie Mar, and Alicia Walter, Panzi Foundation USA held our inaugural Nkisi Gala in NYC on Monday, 25 September, 2017. All our deepest thanks to Marcus Samuelsson for his generosity, and for hosting us at Ginny's Supper Club at his restaurant Red Rooster in Harlem.
In attendance were Harlemite icons Musa Jackson and Daniel 'Dapper Dan' Day, champions for women's equality in sports Sally Roberts and Mara Gubuan, Afro-Latina choreographer Eto'o Tsana, Broadway and theater stars Melvin Tunstall III, Talia Thiesfield and Sydney Harcourt,
Panzi Foundation USA honored Panzi Hospital and Panzi Foundation DRC heroes Dr. Denis Mukwege and Dr. Christine Amisi and all of the women and children who are survivors, patients, and artists at Panzi facilities in Congo.
